For easter week, why Morocco?

Morocco is best visited in the spring, from mid-March to May, or in the fall, from September to October. The particular week of Easter is the greatest time to visit Morocco. Most of the time, traveling to Morocco is fairly safe. Despite the comparatively low crime statistics, it is advised to always be on the lookout when visiting major cities and to store your valuables in a secure location. When you spend the evening in Jemaa el Fnaa in Marrakech, be cautious with your money. Some cunning pickpockets operate there.

Easter Week in Morocco had ideal weather

This year, 2024, Holy Week runs from Sunday, March 24 through Monday, April 1 (Easter Monday). This is in the middle of spring, when it is comfortable and warm all around the nation. In late March, Marrakech has temperatures ranging from 13°C minimum to 25°C maximum. The average amount of rainfall also declines, and there is a 7–13% lower chance of rain by the end of March than at the beginning.

The purest form of Morocco

This revered tradition is so powerful that it paralyzes the country. Morocco doesn’t observe Easter in 2024, so there is no connection. However, with the commotion in the squares and souks, it enables tourists to get a sense of the country’s usual pulse. The sound of the call to prayer, the commotion of city traffic…

Increased availability of ferries and flights

Easter often sees an increase in the number of flights and ferries operating between Spain and Morocco. You will have more possibilities to plan your arrival and departure if you do it this way. Depending on your preferences, you may, for instance, start in one location and end in another, or go in the morning or afternoon. Keep in mind that Tangier is accessible by boat or aircraft, as well as Marrakech, Casablanca, and Fes by air.

Itinerary program: Easter Week In Morocco

Easter is observed during the months of March and April, which are ideal for taking advantage of the generally moderate weather in the nation. This itinerary that we are providing for you is only one of many that we can create for you. We think it could be a really wonderful alternative to undertake over the long Easter weekend because of the number of days and the things to see and do.

Day 1: From Marrakech to Agdez via Ouarzazate and Ait ben Haddou

Departure from Marrakech, heading to Ouarzazate through the High Atlas Mountains. Arrival at Ait Ben Haddou: fortified Kasbah declared a World Heritage Site and where they filmed several movies like ‘Gladiator’, ‘Lawrence of Arabia’ and others. We will proceed to Agdz after visiting Kasbah Taourirt in Ouarzazate and the movie museum. We will spend the night at a lovely riad while sleeping in the center of the Draa palm grove.

Day 2: From Agdez to Ouzina Desert through Paris Dakar Rally track

Following breakfast, the second day of this Easter week tour in Morocco is spent traveling to the magnificent south. This route will enable us to appreciate the beauty of the Draa River’s palm grove. Additionally, we have a beautiful stage today when we will race on a course that has previously hosted a prestigious Paris-Dakar Rally.

We will pass through Berber communities that are isolated in the middle of nowhere, through hamadas and Ergs of the black desert, and we will cross the desert region of the Draa Valley and the Oumjran plateaus. After arriving at Erg Ouzina’s dunes in the late afternoon, we ascend to the top to view the setting sun from the tallest dune before descending to our desert-based lodging.

Day 3: From Erg Ouzina to Erg Chebbi dunes in Merzpuga

We head off early for the 14 family village of Ouzina. We pause to visit the bread oven, where women congregate to speak while making bread. These are mud and adobe homes built by nomadic people. Then we go to the association of Ouzina, and we end with family tea. Following that, we travel to Khamlia, also known as the “village of the blacks,” where we pause to listen to their African percussion instruments before continuing to Erg Chebbi’s dunes.

After finishing the extensive tour of Erg Chebbi, we head to the lodge to swap out our 4x4s for dromedaries so we can traverse the desert. We’ll sleep outside under the sky and spend the night in tents.

Day 4: From Merzouga Dunes to Ouarzazate via Gorges and valleys

We must rise early to catch the sunrise atop the large dune, and after a hearty breakfast, we ride back with the camels to our hotel to freshen up and gather our belongings. We continue on to Rissani, where we take a stroll around the region’s commercial center and explore its genuine, vibrant souk.

The Todra Gorge, a breathtaking valley formed by rock walls that reach 300 meters in height, is our next stop. In order to get to Ouazazate, we then continue through the Dades Valley. A lovely riad at night.

Day 5: From Ouarzazate to Marrakech via high atlas

On the final day of our journey to Morocco, we arrive back in Marrakech after breakfast and leave for the High Atlas at the scheduled time. From there, we will carry on to the Red City to complete the tour.

FQA (frequently questioned answers)

These are some of the most frequently asked questions we receive from travelers who want to know this jewel of southern Morocco. Here are the answers in case they might be helpful for your next trip:

Is the Moroccan desert safe?

The Moroccan desert is generally considered safe for tourists, with close monitoring by Moroccan authorities in the popular tourist destination of the eastern Sahara region. To ensure a safe desert experience, it’s essential to travel with familiarity of the terrain and use common sense. Keep in mind that these are remote, isolated areas where some regions may lack telephone service.

For a secure desert journey, consider booking your desert excursion through a reputable tour operator or guide experienced in the region. Be aware of the desert’s extreme heat and dry conditions, staying well-hydrated and wearing appropriate clothing, including lightweight, breathable fabrics and sun protection. Listen to local advice from guides and residents who are knowledgeable about the desert terrain. Additionally, be cautious with food and water sources, keep your valuables secure, and respect the fragile desert ecosystem.

Carry essential items like a first-aid kit, flashlight, and a fully charged mobile phone. Share your travel itinerary with someone, and maintain emergency preparedness. By adhering to these safety measures and traveling with experienced guidance, you can enjoy a secure and memorable desert adventure in Morocco with us.

Can travel be tailored?

Certainly, you have the flexibility to modify and fully customize any of our excursions to align with your preferences and requirements. Our team is readily available to assist and provide guidance as needed to ensure your tour is tailored to your satisfaction. Your satisfaction and comfort are our top priorities.

All travels is private

All your tours are private and tailored to the travelers’ preferences. Private and tailor-made trips offer a personalized and flexible experience, allowing travelers to explore Morocco in a way that suits their interests and pace. If you have any specific questions or if there’s anything more you’d like to share or discuss about your tours or services, please feel free to let me know, and I’d be happy to assist further.

Are the vacations inclusive?

We usually provide breakfast on our excursions, and in more remote areas, we also include meals. This approach allows you the flexibility to explore local cuisine and dining options in tourist hubs. However, we are more than willing to adapt the desert tour to accommodate any specific dietary requirements if you inform us in advance.

Do the tours include a guide?

Every one of our tours comes with a local guide who is fluent in your language and has expert knowledge of the desert. This ensures that you can explore these lesser-known places with both safety and authenticity. If necessary, we will also recommend official guides to provide more comprehensive insights when visiting specific locations.

Are your travels eco-friendly?

We prioritize environmental sustainability in all of our tours. We contribute to the local economy and prioritize environmental respect by exclusively employing native and local guides.

Are there daily departures?

Certainly, we offer daily departures for our private trips. We can begin the trip on any day of the year, allowing us to accommodate your schedule and specific requirements. Feel free to get in touch, and we will work together to create a customized desert tour in Morocco that suits your preferences.

Reviews: Easter week in Morocco

On my desert trip to Marrakech, I was a little afraid, but when we arrived at the airport, we contacted the organizer, and they picked us up. They were one of the top and most prominent Moroccan desert trip operators. Very warm and helpful, giving us all the information we needed on our first day there. Although the distances are great, the entire 5-day excursion was the best. We traveled as a group on a minibus with wifi and air conditioning. Our knowledgeable English-speaking guide, who explains information about beautiful locations, is unquestionably recommended. Overall, Merzouga's desert offered beautiful sights and vistas.

Vacations In Morocco

We scheduled a 5-day tour that took us through Marrakech, the Dades Valley, Ait Ben Haddou, and the desert. It was the best thing we've ever done, is all I can say. We stayed in Marrakech for a further 4 days on our own after that and regret greatly not having taken the further 8 days with them. Our tour guide, Youssef, was excellent. He was friendly and extremely attentive, explaining local customs. The highlight of the vacation for me was spending the night in a nomad tent and attending a Berber party on Desert Day. The pricing of this journey is astounding when compared to what excursions would cost if you hired them from Marrakech. Really do not hesitate to hire this Moroccan travel agency for any Morocco desert tour.
